    Da hab ich nicht schlecht gestaunt als ich angestiftet von Axel’s Gedanken zur eigenen digitalen Idendität mal meinen Namen durch den Äther geschickt hab. Eh klar: mein Blogs, vergangenes Studium Zeugs und solche Dinge waren ganz oben in der Liste und nicht weiter verwunderlich. Aber dass O’reilly meine Rezension auf ihrer Homepage featuren und dann noch einen Backlink setzten hätte ich mir echt nicht erwartet. Besten Dank!

  • Prototype 1.6.0 RC1

    The first RC of prototype 1.6.0, the javascript Framework of my choice, is here with a bunch of exiting new features:

    • new Event System including custom Events
    • responseJSON method for Ajax Request to parse JSON String
    • in general better support for JSON as Ajax transport method
    • new DOM Mehtods for creating DOM Elements; Insertion and Positiona are deprecated
    • Template Engine
    • implementing of Javascript 1.6 features, eg. Array.indexOf is now nativly supported

  • Rezension: Besser PHP programmieren

    Carsten Möhrke versucht mit Besser PHP programmieren den Leser aus seiner Durchschnittlichkeit zu befreien und ihn zu einem besseren PHP-Entwickler zu machen. Dieser Vorsatz gelingt ihm, denn das Buch bietet neben den enttarnten Fallstricken der PHP-Theorie auch eine satte Sammlung von praxisrelevanten Beispielen. Neben Programmiertechniken bietet es auch Hilfestellungen zu traditionellen Problemen der Software-Entwicklung.

    I read something about the idea of a so called lifestream in the adactio blog. Basically it is just a RSS Mashup with any feeds related to yourself. For example I have used some of my blogs and my del.ici.ous feed for it. And voliá, after a little bit of coding and a lot of css quirks my lifestream is now online.

    To compare my work to others, you may have a look at the streams of Jeff Croft and Jeremy Keith.

    Mit JavaScript – Das umfassende Referenzwerk bringt O’Reilly die lang erwartete, überarbeitete Fassung des inoffiziellen JavaScript-Standardwerkes. Im Vergleich zur zweiten Auflage, die vor rund fünf Jahren erschienen ist, bietet das vorliegende Werk vor allem Aktualisierungen im Bereich Document Object Modell (DOM) und dem momentanen Hype-Thema „Asynchronous Javascript and XML (AJAX)“. Mit seinem Umfang von 1100 Seiten trägt das Werk mit Recht den Untertitel Das umfassende Referenzwerk und kann auch weiterhin dank hoher Qualität als Standardwerk auf dem Gebiet JavaScript gehandelt werden.

  • openKE nominated for Cisco Web2.0 Award

    I’m proud to announce that my project openKE.org is one of 5 nominated finalists of the Cisco Web2.0 Award. The official presentation of the winning project will be on June the 26th as part of the Cisco Expo event.

    To be honest I was so very surprised that my project has been nominated cause it’s the only private project of the 5 finalists. I had no budget (still have none!), no idea where the dev process will lead me to, but finally I think the outcome is an unique and useful product.
